Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC)

Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC)

This is a two-day driving program that is fully customized for professional security drivers, executive drivers, and protection teams seeking to build specialized skills and gain a better understanding of transporting clients in coupes, sedans and SUVs.

Course Overview

This course focuses on vehicle dynamics, collision avoidance, and response to emergency scenarios. Training is conducted by the Advanced Security Concepts, Inc. in conjunction with Danny McKeever’s Fast Lane.

Training Timeline Classroom Instruction (6 hrs.)

Understanding “Driving” from a technical standpoint:

  • The combination of classroom instruction and immediate application on the track supports both a working knowledge of a vehicle’s capabilities and physical application techniques.

  • The classroom portion of this training examines forces which act upon a vehicle (friction, momentum and acceleration), and how acceleration and cornering affect it, as well as what the driver can, or cannot, do to minimize the effects of those forces.

    Topics included in this analysis:

    • Preventative Maintenance

    • Troubleshooting small vehicle problems

    • Vehicle Physics

    • Vehicle Function

    • The Detail Vehicle

  • After this discussion, you will understand vehicle and driver performance factors, including mechanical and physical limitations for evasive maneuvers, and what you can do to enhance both.

  1. Advanced time-distance concepts

  2. Reaction times

  3. Common causes for loss of control (understeer and oversteer)

  4. Vehicle prep list
